Ethiopian coffee is considered by many the king of coffee and rightly so! This espresso roast has strong vanilla & peach notes and a pronounced acidity. Paired with milk, it brings out a mandarin and milk chocolate sweetness.

This coffee comes from the Worka wet mill which is located in the Sakaro Village of the Gedeb district, close to Yirgacheffe. The mill is owned and run by Daniel Mijane, who has eight years experience running wet mills in Worka Sakaro and Banko Gotiti. Daniel is part of a team which includes his brothers and his father who oversees the quality aspects of the Worka Sakaro wet mill.
The Worka wet mill receives coffees from about 550 farmers. They grow local varietals (Heirloom) in semi-forest vegetation. The average lot size of a farmer is only 1-2 hectares, with 1800-2400 trees per hectare. The coffee cherries are harvested by family members, then hand-sorted to remove unripe and overripe cherries before they are delivered to the washing station for processing. After the harvest season is over the coffees are moved to warehouses and dry mills in Addis Ababa, the capital.
The Work wet mill is one of the three mills of Snap Coffee, owned by a local coffee-passionate entrepreneur Negusse D. Weldyes. Snap supports the community of smallholder living near the washing station through partnerships with washing station owners. The washing stations build schools and Snap provides computers and other facilities. Snap is also constructing roads to less accessible farming areas. Snap are also planning to build health clinics in the future to improve access to healthcare for farmers in the washing station areas.
