This coffee we’ve selected through the co-operative Minasul of the Specialty Europe. Minasul Cooperative from Varginha, founded in 1958, has solid values such as respect, transparency and excellence.
With 6.000 members, it receives coffee from more than 150 cities in Minas Gerais, originating close to 1,3 million bags per crop, being 80% specialty coffee.
Since 1993 it has promoted good coffees of Minas Gerais, through the Minasul Coffee Quality Contest. The mission of Minasul is to stimulate the improvement of quality and promote the potential that its region has to produce specialty coffee. Minasul has in the recent years expanded it’s specialty department with focus on quality and improving the image of Brasilian coffees to showcase some characters Brasil is not usually known for. While for the most part, large farms predominate the market in the north part, in the Minas Gerais you can find a large part of smallholder farmers such as José Olavo Vasconcelos of Fazenda Roseira.
