Finca Costa Rica

Producer

Finca Costa Rica

Faver Ninco is known in Huila as a producer who relies on experience, observation and patience rather than trends. Farming in the remote hills of Vereda San Joaquín, he has built his reputation through consistency and a deep personal understanding of his land. His approach is grounded in practice developed over decades, where careful attention replaces unnecessary intervention and quality is achieved through discipline and routine. We were introduced to Faver through Yonatan from Cuatro Vientos, who recognised the uniqueness of his coffees and the long-term potential of working together. Since beginning our collaboration in 2024, the relationship has grown around shared values of transparency, long-term commitment and respect for origin, allowing us to bring coffees that reflect both the producer’s character and the identity of Huila.

At 2100 metres above sea level, steep terrain, cool temperatures and slow cherry maturation shape the character of Finca Costa Rica.

Finca Costa Rica sits high in the mountains of Huila, where altitude, volcanic soils and large temperature differences between day and night slow the development of the coffee cherries. This environment allows sugars and aromatics to develop gradually, contributing to the clarity and balance for which the region is known. Across the farm, Faver cultivates a wide range of varieties, including Wush Wush, Gesha, Pink Bourbon and traditional Colombian cultivars, treating each lot according to its needs. Washed processing remains central to his work, with an emphasis on cleanliness and transparency in the cup. Beyond his own production, Faver plays an important role in demonstrating that careful, long-term farming can create sustainable opportunities for families in the region while preserving the identity of Huila coffee.
