About the role

We are seeking for a Full-Time Coffee Trainer & Barista to lead our B2C workshops, B2B training programs, mobile bar activities, events, and internal staff development. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep coffee expertise with the ability to teach, inspire, and design impactful learning experiences, while showing initiative, proactive ownership, and a drive to innovate.

Your Responsibilities Include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Lead B2C Workshops: Host engaging and educational consumer workshops that introduce customers to brewing techniques, sensory skills, coffee fundamentals and science.
  • Deliver B2B Training: Train wholesale partners and clients on espresso, milk, workflow, sensory evaluation, and equipment use tailored to their needs.
  • Internal Staff Training: Provide ongoing training for our barista team, ensuring consistent quality and continuous professional growth.
  • Curriculum Development: Create, maintain, and improve all training materials, workshops, and professional learning formats. Take full ownership of the curriculum and bring proactive ideas for development and innovation.
  • Project Management: Organize training schedules, coordinate workshop logistics, collaborate with teams, and drive improvements to our educational programs through initiative and strong ownership.
  • Mobile Bar & Events: Support and lead mobile bar activations and public or private events, manage the logistics from A–Z, and represent Wide Awake through excellent service and coffee knowledge.
  • Barista Duties: Approx 20h-25h bar shifts. Preparing espresso-based drinks and filter coffee to the highest standards, delivering outstanding hospitality, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Coffee Expertise: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, roasting and origin principles, sensory science, and equipment, translating this into accessible and engaging training content.
  • Representation: Act as an ambassador of Wide Awake’s values and coffee philosophy across all training activities.

You Are:

  • Someone with minimum 2 years of specialty coffee experience as a barista.
  • Passionate about education, coffee, and helping others grow their skills.
  • An excellent communicator who can explain complex topics in a clear, engaging way.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects with autonomy.
  • Confident speaking in front of groups and adapting to different audiences.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Flexible agenda to coordinate and schedule trainings for B2B customers.
  • Fluent in English & French (Dutch is a strong plus).
  • Driving licence B optional, not required.
  • Someone who brings initiative, proactive ownership, and ideas to improve training and operations.
