This lot from Uraga Washing Station in Guji is a great example of anaerobic processing done well - complex, fruit forward with a sirupy mouthfeel. It’s our second year working with the station. Expect notes of rhubarb, hibiscus and nectarine with a syrupy mouthfeel.

Uraga Station

Uraga Washing Station is located in Guji, a high-altitude region in southern Ethiopia known for its unique microclimate and layered coffees.

The region’s altitude, cool climate and rich red soil contribute to the complexity and clarity often found in Guji coffees. Uraga is operated by Tracon Coffee and works with hundreds of nearby farmers, many of whom deliver cherry by hand during harvest. The station focuses on improving quality through selective picking, clean processing and controlled fermentation. We’ve been working with Uraga for two years now, and their exerimental naturals continue to stand out. This Anaerobic lot was sealed in GrainPro bags for 18–24 hours of fermentation before drying on raised beds for up to three weeks.

FAQ

When will my order be shipped?

We ship every weekday with DHL Parcel (EU) and DHL Express (worldwide). Orders received before 7AM ship the same day. The shipping time varies per destination.

Can I get an invoice?

If you're VAT liable, please fill out your VAT number on your cart page before checking out (below the order note box). Other company information can be filled out during checkout under the Billing Address.

Your order confirmation email will contain a link to a PDF invoice. Can't find it or forgot to add your VAT number? Email us at hello@wideawake.coffee.

How fresh is the coffee I receive?

The coffee we ship is usually roasted no longer than a week ago, but can be up to 2 weeks maximum. We recommend to rest our coffees 2-4 weeks after roasting as they gain more intensity and complexity.

What to know when ordering ground coffee?

After roasting we pack and seal our coffee bags immediately. When you order ground coffee, be aware that the bag will be opened, so our team can grind your coffee. Pay attention when choosing your grind size as we do not accept returns for wrong grind size selection.
